As far as i know the happiest country in the world is Vanuatu Island in the pacific followed by Colombia in South America. In the other hand Scandinavian countries are also recognized by their high levels of depressed people…
Thanks for the props! We like it here too.
To the guy above me: depression breeds genius. For instance, Søren Aabye Kierkegaard was clinically depressed and Hans Christian Andersen was struggling with being a homosexual in a time were that was down right abomination and was therefore also depressed.
Kierkegaard is taught in universities all over the world and Andersen is THE most read author in the world.
Danish beers are among the best in the world, Danish women are astounding, Danish export wind power to Germany! Danish cheeses are great, Danish engineering is what makes the wind power successful, and they are not at war with anyone! If they are happy it is probably because they are not trapped on the American materialism merry-go-round and have time to enjoy life itself!
All Scandinavian are great

Let me please remind you all that Denmark is in fact part of the coalition currently engaged in the war in Iraq. And let me remind you that our PM is in fact a Bush-underdog and that materialism and greed is ruining our country aswell.
Let me remind you, Bo, that Denmark hasn’t had combat troops i Iraq for a year. The only danish military personnel currently assigned in Iraq are guarding Danish diplomats and training local personnel.
Oh yeah that’s right – they went on to Afghanistan. Much better then. Or? Your comment has got nothing to do with what I wrote. Denmark is part of the coalition mr. Nielsen?
My comment is a comment to the following from Uncle B:
“…and they are not at war with anyone! If they are happy it is probably because they are not trapped on the American materialism merry-go-round and have time to enjoy life itself!”
Sorry if I giggle, but we are smothered in Americanism over here. Smothered I tell you. We even engage in your wars. Embarassing.
That may be because our government is sick and needs to be overthrown. Anders Fogh is a right wing fanatic and, I think the reason why some Danes are unhappy. People like him are the reason why “we are smothered in Americanism over hereâ€. The people who vote for any of the right wing parties are either ignorant or just plain greedy. The government may refer to Denmark as a socialist nation but we are being spoon-fed capitalism by the people we are supposed to trust the most.
Furthermore Denmark should have never participated in the Iraqi war. It is a fight for oil and ego and I feel ashamed that my country was ever associated with something so vile!
We may not be grinning from ear to ear but there is a very real reason for that!
Just remember that there are danes there. *shudder*
Cool, very cool photo. I wish in there.
man change the title Denmark – the happiest place in the world ! its not the happiest place
It’s a nice, clean place, but I doubt they are the happiest place on Earth. At least as far as my knowledge, their suicide rates are almost as bad as China’s. Their crime rates are high for a Nordic country as well. I don’t know, ranking Denmark as the happiest place on Earth doesn’t seem right, because I am pretty sure people are far happier in places like Iceland or Italy. Whatever floats the analysts boat.
Off topic: I can’t stop laughing at the posts made by Julie, Uncle B, and Bo. I take it you all wear tin foil hats as well?
